Friday I’m In Love….

Inspired by Rock My Reception acoustic version of The Cure’s Fridays I’m In Love, here is this weeks blog on Friday weddings:

Traditionally, Sunday was the magic day a couple would tie the not. In the 21st Century we do things differently……for most people, the shackles of day to day life-work commitments, financial restraints have come to determine the day of the week a couple choose to get married. Saturdays are definitely the most popular and it’s easy to see why: it gives long distance friends and relatives the chance to finish work and travel up on the Friday night. A Saturday Wedding also means people can throw themselves head-first into the party spirit with a Sunday to recover with a full English!

Rock My Reception have played weddings on every day of the week in the past so here’s a list of songs a couple could choose to befit their chosen wedding day:

Monday Monday: The Mamas and Papas.

Manic Monday: The Bangles

Ruby Tuesday: The Rolling Stones

Tuesday Afternoon: The Moody Blues

Waiting for Wednesday: Lisa Loeb

Thursday: Pet Shop Boys

Fridays I’m in Love: The Cure

Friday: Glee

Saturday Night: Suede

Someday I’ll be Saturday Night: Bon Jovi

Lazy Sunday Afternoon: The Small Faces

Sunday Girl: Blondie

For obvious reasons Elton Johns “Saturday nights alright for fighting” and Shed 7’s ” She left me on a Friday” have been omitted!
